STEP Export with Solder Mask in Mechanical Mode

Post by pricom »

When export STEP file, using Mode=Mechanical, can you add the check boxes for all layers, or solder mask?

I did try the "EMF" mode, but that breaks all the nets out in the step file. STEP file is much larger in EMF mode. The Mechanical mode is perfect for what I want, but lacks the beauty of the Solder Mask layers.

Maybe there is another way to get there?

Please try to use the "Thermal Server" mode. Use the main window right panel to enable the layers you need. The downside will be that the internal "prepreg/core" for each pair of copper layers is included separately, even if the internal layers are switched off. This will be much less data than the "electromagnetic" mode, however.

I need to look into Opencascade Lib again because it is weird that adding names and hierarchy increases STEP file size so much.
