This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Software or Website.

We will not use your information except as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, we will not share your personal information with anyone.

Information Collection and Use

Website Analytics

The Website is not using Google Analytics or any other cookie-based analytic. The server logs, collected by the ionos.de website hosting provider, store a partially masked IP address. Namely, the last octet of an IP address is set to zero. Therefore, we assume that masked server logs do not qualify as Personal Information. The Website Hosting Provider stores server logs for a period of 9 weeks. We are archiving the logs locally.

Generating License

You need to generate a license key (free or paid) to use the ZofzPCB program.

A free or paid license key for ZofzPCB is related to your email address.

The email address, your real name (if acquired), and license type and date are stored in the license database. Your email address and name are stored in encrypted form. Due to asymmetric encryption, database and server software cannot decrypt this personal information. This approach is equivalent to pseudonymization - the data are useless in case of a database breach.

We can decrypt the database information in a local computer - that is not accessible from the internet.

The database data is not shared with any of the third parties.

We may occasionally email you about the product, e.g., new features. You can opt-out by using a link in such an email.

Free Trial License

We require you to provide us with your email address only for free/trial license key generation. The website will verify the email address by sending an email back to you with a link to follow.
Additionally, the email domain will be checked for disposable email providers via the external service www.mailcheck.ai.

We may send you a marketing email during the trial period or after.

The email address is stored in the database for three years and then automatically erased. That also means you can generate the trial license again after this period.

Paid License

1. The website uses 2checkout.com, a third-party service via external linking, to manage payments. You will receive the license key at the end of the payment process and inside the confirmation email. Please consider checking out the 2checkout Privacy Policy and their terms of service.
2. You can also buy the license via Digikey.com. You will receive the license in an email about 10 minutes after closing the purchase. As a Digikey client, having an account, you are already familiar with their privacy policy and terms.

We are storing the payed license data indefinitely.

License key validation mechanism (version 3 and above)

We use automatic node-locking based on hashed and partially masked hardware IDs. The database stores the hardware ID in connection with your license ID. Lifetime of such record is one month, both on the database and on the PC side. The New-Version-Query actualizes the record. The database will issue a node lock for a maximum of two different hardware IDs per license ID, allowing for a smooth transition to another PC or using ZofzPCB on two PCs.

New Version Query

You can check for the new software version automatically or manually from inside the program. The request sent to the server includes the hashed (one-way encrypted and partially masked) hardware ID. The program receives the currently available version number, a short list of changes, and the updated node-lock grant.

Log File and Bug Reports

We want to inform you that whenever you use the program, in case of an error in the program, We collect data and information on your computer, called Log File. This Log File may include information such as the operating system version, the configuration of the program, the time and date of your use of the program, and other information related to the error. In case of a program error, you have the option to send a bug report. The bug report contains the information you enter at the time. You can include or exclude the Log File in the report. In addition, you can review and alter the Log File before sending it.

We receive the bug report in the form of an email. It will contain your (return) address if you provide it.

Forum

We use Opensource phpBB forum software hosted on the ZofzPCB.com website. The forum provides email notifications. Therefore, it needs to store users' emails. Currently, the data storage of the forum, including identification, is independent of the license key-generating system.

The forum has all tracking/advertisement mechanisms switched off.

Cookies

The entire website uses a technical cookie of CloudFlare, called "__cfduid". CloudFlare is a CDN service provider. Find out more...

Additionally, the forum part of the website uses three technical cookies. The cookies maintain the user-id, status of the viewed posts, navigation in the forum, etc. Please refer to the privacy section of the forum.

Abuse of website user account registration

The website uses a relatively short-lived cache of IP addresses to combat abuse.
(For example, sending emails to other people through the website).

Disposable emails are detected by www.mailcheck.ai - an external service. The service uses email address domain, but not the user name. That makes the query data a non-personal information.

Implementation of Sanctions

The website uses an external service (ipinfo.io) to check the geolocation of customers' partially masked IP addresses.
(A partially masked IP address is not considered personal information.)
In addition, the website uses a long-term cache of downloaded country codes to speed up and reduce the number of queries to the external service.

Personal Information Security

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information. Thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The Website does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please get in touch with us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.

Download Security

The website enforces the use of the secure (HTTPS) protocol. Unless the certificates on your computer are not compromised, this prevents "man in the middle" attacks. That is, an attacker cannot modify the downloaded software on the way.

For additional security, always check the executable file signature. Right-click on the exe file, select "Properties", and then the "Digital Signatures" tab. "Name of signer" should be "Rafal Powierski".

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
